Olive Oil Goat Milk Soap - Castile Soap - Coconut Oil Free

Soapmakers in the Mediterranean have been making this kind of soap for a millennia. Crafted with high quality olive oil, this hard, yet gentle, soap has been the subject of religious and political controversy since its importation out of Spain in the 1600s when Spanish Catholic manufacturers supplanted the popular British soap variety and King Charles I started a public smear campaign against it.
So what is so special about this soap that it got 17th century Monarchy all aflutter?

It is a hard, long lasting, gentle soap made with high quality olive oil. 
It takes an incredibly long time to cure, one year or more for best performance, the sodium salts crystallize slowly like the aging of fine cheese.
You will notice that the lather is different from some other soaps, you will not get as much of the big bubbly lather you find in my other soap.  It is more of a gentle, creamy lather.

Why did I choose to make a soap purely out of olive oil (and goat milk) that requires a year to cure at a time when olive oil prices are at an all time high?
One of the more common comments I get from folks at markets is that they have a coconut oil allergy and let's face it, coconut oil is an excellent oil for soapmaking, its relatively inexpensive and creates large bubbles and has high cleansing power which is all awesome...unless you have a coconut allergy.  
I wanted to have something to offer for those who cant partake in my other soap varieties because of ingredient sensitivities. And I'm a nerd who likes a challenge.
