Indigo Shampoo Bar | Natural Toning Shampoo

Tone it down!
This shampoo contains natural pigments from beetroot and indigo to help tone down brassiness without artificial dyes.

One thing I have learned about living in the country is that well water often equals iron water. I remember lamenting the fact that I could never quite rid myself of the brassy tone in my hair during a hair appointment, the hairdresser immediately clocked that I probably had iron rich water which is the culprit for eternally brassy rust tones in your hair. 
It was less noticeable in my brown hair but one of my daughters has white-blonde locks and despite since installing a water softener to filter out some of the minerals our hair was still maintaining its coppery glow. 

About a year ago I started wondering if I could make a naturally toning shampoo without the use of artificial dyes, and after much experimenting and testing, came up with this gentle, natural combo of beetroot powder and indigo powder, not enough to actually tint your hair, but just enough to mellow.

Scented with a soft and uplifting blend of Tangerine, Frankincense, Neroli, and Petitgrain.

Each bar is hand molded and pressed with good intentions in small batches.

I've sourced all of my ingredients to be responsibly harvested and use some really creative botanical solutions, like gentle lather produced from apples, and conditioning from brassicas. This shampoo bar is low waste, ethically sourced, long lasting (probably too long to be a smart business move if I'm honest), and effective.  There is no need to rinse with apple cider vinegar and there is no transition process when switching from commercial liquid shampoo.

"How do I use it?"
You simply wet your hair, and rub the bar onto your head, you will immediately notice the lather build in your hair. Set the bar down and continue to work the bubbles through your hair, rinse, and repeat if needed.

Follow up with Sweet Orange Conditioner Bar, your regular conditioner of choice, or no conditioner at all depending on your hair type.
