I wanted to formulate an effective, gentle deodorant in an applicator with a good glide. Biodegradable, plastic free, no salts, no baking soda.
Little did I know that this would be one of my most challenging formulations yet!

This puppy took about a year and a lot of trial and error to get just right. I had some of my hardest working testers on this one, other farmers and small business folks gave their sweaty all to put it through its paces, moving fences for livestock on hot days and long summer market set up and tear downs. We came through smelling like a rose (well, not actually a rose, but a beautiful blend of distilled thyme, lemon, cedar, juniper, fennel, and a touch of patchouli essential oils and hydrosols). Because I don't know how to make anything simple I've infused my oils with home grown calendula and thyme for that extra je ne sais quoi!



Why these ingredients matter:
- zinc oxide and zinc ricinoleate: non-staining, protective odour absorbers!
Fun fact: Zinc Ricinoleate chemically fixes odour molecules that are formed during the bacterial decomposition of perspiration.

- Fullers Earth / Multani Mitti
Fun Fact: This light-coloured Multani Mitti clay is the result of decomposed volcanic ash. The name, Fuller's earth, comes from this clay's use in the early English wool industry. It was used by fullers to clean and degrease woolen cloth during the 'fulling' process, because of its ability to absorb oil.

- Bamboo Bioferment
Fun Fact: Bamboo bioferment is a natural replacement for silicone, creating a beautiful slippery feel

-Arrowroot Powder
Fun Fact: Arrowroot powder is a natural sweat absorbent and is gentle enough for even the most sensitive armpits

Smells sooooooo good

Smells sooooooo good and love that the packaging is compostable! I really appreciate the thought and care that is put into perfecting the formula and making the best choices for the user. I have tried a lot of natural deodorant that I end up having a skin reaction but my underarms have never been happier!
