Meet Eos!

Eos is a 3 week old Spanish goat, a lesser known breed in Canada.  These hardy, adaptable, goats were introduced to the Caribbean and North America by the Spanish some time around the 16th century.  Primarily raised for their ability to range in difficult terrain, clearing brush, and for their meat, this breed of goat also carries a high amount of cashmere producing genetics. Producing large amounts of the soft downy undercoat every year which can be harvested by combing and spun into a fine fibre.


Although we haven't known Eos for too long she is already bleated her way into our hearts with her sweet waddles and flippy tail.
She has incredibly soft wavy hair that is brilliant white save for one single black dot on her back.  Eos and her twin sister Nyx (also available to sponsor) come from a set of quadruplets and are now being raised on a bottle, making them some of the friendliest babies around.

Eos is eligible for sponsorship levels 1, 2, and 3.  Although she is not primarily a dairy goat and is only a baby right now, she will likely join into my regular milking rotation in a couple years when she is old enough.  
Anyone who sponsors Eos may be able to have the option of adding some of her fibre next Spring, but this is a whole new endeavour so we will have to see how it plays out.
